First seen on MyFonts: August 29th, 2002 PIXymbols Highway Gothic 2002Highway alphabets designed for use in the production of highway signs, as well as in any documentation relating to those signs. (The previous edition will remain available, for those customers who prefer it, and have kerning ability built-in their application program). Designed to meet the specifications outlined in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Standard Highway Signs 2002 Edition (Metric), which includes Standard Alphabets, as specified in the MUTCD Millenium Edition, Revision 1. This new PIXymbols Highway Gothic Series features shouldered characters which require no additional spacing, nor any kerning, and can be used in any program which supports either PostScript or TrueType fonts. All characters have been drawn exactly according to the above described specifications. The HG2002 six-font package also includes the PIXymbols DOTborder font, which consists of thin-and-thick line horizontal and vertical border segments and corner units, as well as a diamond shape frame design. It provides a convenient way to create shield borders for highway signs. NOTE: This edition includes D.O.T. designed lower case characters, which run wider than the l.c. which we designed for the previous edition, when no l.c. standards were available. We have included three spacing options (for word spacing, etc.): Spacebar generates a space equal to 10% of the character height; < = 30%; and > = 50%. Cap character sizing works as follows: 108 points=1 inch; 1080 pt.=10 "; 648 pt.= 6". Not quite what you’re looking for? Try looking at more fonts like this. |
