Pet Sounds Log Letters

Does anyone know the name of this font and whether or not it has been digitised?
Thank you.

Rustic -- available in Dover/Solo Special Effects Display Fonts CD/book:
http://store.doverpublications.com/0486999696.html

a "cleaned-up" version is available at Mueller’s site at typoasis called Pinewood:
[sorry, can’t get through at the moment -- will return later]

Thanks for that. Do you know if the copy with the Dover book is exactly the same or if it’s just similar, like Richard William Meuller’s “Pinewood”?
(or did you mean a different Mueller).

I have a font called “Rustic” in my library and it’s similar (made from illustrated branches) but not the same.

it’s very, very close (not like Mueller’s) with the same shadows

edit: this is a WRONG (wishful) statement: see below

OK
Thanks for the quick replies.

Case marked as solved as it’s ever going to be ...

  --andrewdrummond on 2006-11-01 20:51:30 (1196d 4h 25m 50s ago)

I take it all back -- Solo’s Rustic is the same as Mueller’s Pinewood -- it is NOT the classic Rustic (Vindent Figgins 1845) and does NOT have the background shadows

Case marked unsolved.

see this thread for availability of the letters if you want to make your own font:

Guys, I have quite a few wood-look fonts, including Logger, Pinewood, Woodsticks, etc. But the one that matches the sample...and I mean perfectly...is a font called Twig. Unfortunately, my font manager gives no information. But it is the correct font, down to every knot hole and shadow.

Since it does not seem to be a commercial font, I would be willing to send to andrew if WTF is cool with that.

lucky you, jan -- I really expected Solo’s CD/book to have the original version, not his “Whiteshadow” removed

ask Chris to send it (and I’d appreciate it too -- to see how its punctuation works -- if there be some)

  --philippe2 on 2006-11-02 03:25:18 (1195d 21h 52m 2s ago)

Okey dokey. It is all caps, full numbers, some punctuation but not complete...and very cool IMHO, question and exclamation mark! I’m sending to Chris to pass on to you.

It is the most detailed and intricate of the “log” fonts I have...without going up to the next level...Nalle’s Rustic, Jester Font’s WildWood or PJL’s extraordinary DeepWoodsInitials and Black Forest.

I have it as ‘Birch’ - also sans any copyright info.

Hello Jan
If you are willing to send the correct font (and if it’s OK to do so),

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Andrew, et al.. The font Twig can be downloaded at this site. I hope this is legal ... ;-)

EDIT: and of course it is the boy-scouts-site (be prepared, as always). :-D

Font identified as Twig (aka Birch ?!?).

Case marked solved.

  --schwalbenkoenig on 2006-11-02 06:48:46 (1195d 18h 28m 34s ago)

Having seen Twig now, I can say that it is a MUCH more faithful digitization of Rustic than is Birch. Thanks Jan!

Thanks everyone.

LOL! Thanks, Rainer. Now I remember where I got MY font...the Boy Scouts, of course. Well, la-di-da! Everyone is happy now...and I did email Chris, so Andrew, you may be well-covered with “Birch” "Twig"s. Ha!
