About CF Asty Font Family

A monolinear geometric typeface that derives from the 20th century sans serifs, urban signage and design simplicity of Paul Rener's Futura. CF Asty though, does not faithfully follow the strict geometry of Futura, including simultaneously humanitarian design elements such as other popular Sans (Avenir, Gotham, Neutraface, Gill Sans, etc.). This approach, combined with the relatively high x-height, makes it legible in titles as well as long texts. Particular attention was paid to the purity of Greek characters which without exaggerated design, combines perfectly with the style and simplicity of Latin.

The latest version supports Western & Extended Latin, Greek and Cyrillic character sets and all numerals.

Available in Variable file at no extra cost.

About Fonts.GR

Fonts.GR, Greek Digital Type Library (originally Cannibal) was founded in 1995 with the aim to enrich and renew the Greek typography. The permanent members (Panos Haratzopoulos, Yannis Karlopoulos), their regular collaborators and many other graphic designers that they have cooperated at times, equally skilled in typography and with a significant contribution to graphic design and visual arts.During this time Fonts.GR has designed and published to the Greek and international market new font designs, original or Greek versions, which were accepted with enthusiasm since they covered the need for dynamic communication tools. Many of these fonts were coincided (in terms of communication) with major events (Olympic Games Athens 2004, Greek Presidency of the European Union) and supported the graphic communication of agencies, institutions, advertising companies, newspapers and other publications. Fonts.GR's “Stella Project” (2013-2018), a study in the forgotten art of calligraphy of the 50s, 60s and 70s, gained great publicity in Greece. It led to the production of original fonts widely used in Greek packaging and branding, an exhibition at the Benaki Museum, a documentary on ERT3 public television and a series of lectures and workshops in Greece and Cyprus.Fonts.GR has been providing consulting services related to the design of Greek characters to many Type Foundries and independent designers around the world.
