As a type designer, I am interested in the interaction and boundaries between digital and physical media; book design is an area that strongly informs my creative process. Since learning to bind books by hand, I've found a new appreciation for the physical object as part of the finished design. Type plays an intrinsic role in the way that we interact with language, but the isolation of type from language leaves room for ideas which wouldn't normally be arrived at, which I find really engaging.
