James Coffman

I'm an artist and designer based in Napa California. My work focuses on branding and type design. The typefaces I create are a contemporary approach to forgotten hand lettering and sign painting techniques. Each font is intended to stand on its own as a display piece, largely form before function. The goal of the type I create is to drive a clear aesthetic forward, to be used in niche situations for specific styles of projects.
