Lucas Guizetti (*1998) is a German graphic designer, typographer and type designer living in Munich and Vienna. He holds a Master’s degree in Graphic Communication Design from the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg. He was a scholarship holder of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation from 2020 to 2023.
He started designing type in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Gertrud Nolte and Jakob Fangmeier, and has been passionately creating new typefaces ever since. Lucas has designed custom typefaces for small businesses and festivals.
From 2020 to 2021, Lucas has been a student teaching assistant in typography classes at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg and has given several lectures on his type work at exhibitions and at the TGM (Typografische Gesellschaft München). Amongst other design studios, he previously worked at Kontrapunkt.
Lucas is a deeply critical designer, always looking to expand the notion of what type and typography can be, and is an ardent advocate of expressive typography that conveys complex concepts by adding visual narratives.
