Founded in 2009 by Paul McNeil and Hamish Muir, MuirMcNeil’s activities are focussed on exploring systemic and algorithmic principles in type design, graphic design and moving image. We like to think of typefaces as component parts of larger visual environments rather than as objects to be focussed on as autonomous artefacts. As a result, most of our work is modular, geometric and systematic in its construction and its methods.
