Nikola graduated from University of Zagreb, Croatia, and Italian Academy of art and design, Italy. He went to the Hague, Netherlands, to attend postgraduate MA course in Type]Media at the Royal Academy of Art. After being awarded his masters degree in 2003, he went back to Croatia where he still lives and works. He teaches history and theory of type designer at the University of Zagreb, School of Design, and Academy of Arts, University of Split; and runs his own typefoundry, Typonine.
