RTF
Rimmer Type Foundry
Rimmer Type Foundry was the personal type design outfit of celebrated Canadian designer, letterer, illustrator and printer Jim Rimmer (1934-2010). The RTF library contained types made over the span of three decades, original typefaces Rimmer made mostly for use in printing at his own Pie Tree Press in Vancouver. Most of the faces were cut using a pantograph before seeing life in digital form. The RTF collection of fonts contained some internationally renown designs like Albertan, Amethyst, Dokument and Stern. In 2006, Jim Rimmer sold the rights to his foundry to P22 Type Foundry in Buffalo, and continued to work with them until his death in 2010. In the summer of 2012, Toronto foundry Canada Type acquired the rights to Rimmer's body of work from P22, and began expanding and remastering the fonts for current technologies.
