Sebastian Hilgetag graduated from Fachhochschule Potsdam as Master of Arts under typography teacher Luc(as) de Groot. After his graduation he started to work as a freelance designer for agencies such as Stan Hema (former Meta Design), Realgestalt and Leo Burnett.
After working on a number of different typeface, Sebastian founded Monday Type in 2021 in Berlin, Germany.
