Dear MyFonts:

Hello, I'm just curious about what font do you use on your site in general. I appreciate if you answer.

Thanks!

Dear MyFonts:

Dear MF,
First of all, love this site; keep up the great work.

There may be a way to do this already... Is it possible to choose seven (10, 64, whatever) specific fonts to show up on one screen so I can enter the type I want to see and then be able to screen capture that screen? so I have a visual comparison of the same words all on the same page?

Thanks!

Have you tried working in an album? A font album is a place to store fonts that you may want to purchase later. You can also share font albums with friends. You will need to be logged in to your MyFonts account to do this. To add a font to a font album: Click 'add to album' from any page this option is displayed. Often you will find you need to place your cursor over the display to have the 'Add to Album' option available. To access your font albums: Log in to your MyFonts user account Select 'your name>Albums' in the upper center of your browser window Click the font album you want to display

Dear MyFonts:

Is there any way I can move fonts out of one alum and into another?

Amy

From within your album you can select the 'Add to Album' option for your font, and add the font to another album, then manually delete it from the original album by selecting 'Remove item'.

Dear MyFonts:

Keep up the good work.

Dear MyFonts:

When you view a image on a particular font it would be cool if when you save that image the image name has the font name in the file name. Similar to when you go to a photo site and when you save one of the photos it has a number or name on the file to search it by.

Thanks,
Will

MyFonts says:
Except for the waterfalls, most all the images are dynamic, making is somewhat difficult to store default names. An option you have available would be to save the file and manually enter the font name. :-)

Dear MyFonts:

My dad created a pic/word logo years ago, and in a recent attempt to reproduce the logo, we discovered that the name of the font was lost. But by using your website, we found out in just about 5 minutes which font was used. Thank you ever so much for this great service!

Dear MyFonts:

Whenever I try to print the PDF receipt from a web browser, it just comes out as garble-de-gook. If I download it to my computer first and try to print that way, it informs me one of the fonts cannot be embedded and so words are missing on that printout. I eventually take a screenshot and print that way, so it retains all formatting. I'm a font snob, so I love the tidy, clean format you use -- however, the particular fonts (and/or their ability to be embedded) needs a little tweaking. Thank you kindly!

Dear MyFonts:

That “minibrowser” thing on the side-- How does one get it to show something else than lower-case A’s?

Posted on February 23, 2012

MyFonts says:
In the 'MoreFontsLikeThis' section, currently, the lower case 'a' is the only option. It's simply to give you an idea of the alternate font in question. Having the ability to change letters is something we're looking in to.

Dear MyFonts:

I would LOVE a font councilor!

I'm not feeling confident about type in my designs... I love so many of the typefaces I see, and want to use them all! I'm educated enough to know there’s a lot more to picking out type than just what strikes me, but too green to feel confident in my choices.

For example, I need to find a font that will work for a very large outdoor wooden sign - key elements: classic serif? (they value the old traditional ways), serious (it’s for the city), elegant - perhaps some swashy bits, but bold and fisherMANly. It’s for Seine floats (parking your fishing boats). Any ideas? Do you already have help in place that I'm not seeing?

MyFonts says:
This is actually something we're currently working on. Unfortunately, it's pretty tough, because we're not always aware of the 'look' or 'feel' you're attempting to convey. For now, we usually recommend collecting fonts in an an Album or two. This will allow you to work with a group of fonts on the same page to see if they work well with and compliment each other.

Dear MyFonts:

Thanks for offering the option to re-download a font. I moved from a MacBookPro to a MacBookAir. The advantage: a solid state disk, the disadvantage: less disc space. By purging the disc I removed a font I bought in 2009. Now I am happy to be able to re-download and install it again.

THANKS!

Dear MyFonts:

Dear My Fonts,
I was thinking it would be nice if your fonts had “friends.” I would like to see your suggestions for type combinations. I think it would be beneficial for us as buyers and you as sellers, as it would boost your sales...as far as I know, cross selling is an easy way to boost your profits.
So yeah, I'm really loving the Gelato script font, but I'm wanting another one to go pair with it. If you had a suggestion, that I already knew looked awesome, I'd buy em both.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll buy Gelato before you release this service, but if you do release this service, and you make lots more money, you can let me come visit you in Mass.
Gracias!

Dear MyFonts:

I have many fonts purchased from you and every one is a winner. However, I purchased CalligraphiaLatinaMixed a couple of days ago and it is definitely the lovliest font I've got in my fonts folder. It is almost exactly like the handwriting of a landlady I had in the early 50s.When she was young she worked for a lawyer, writing deeds and wills in longhand. Her writing was exquisite, as is this beautiful font. This font looks great on the page and is easy to read. If I am feeling a bit down I always go into your site and buy myself a new font to cheer myself up.I am a fonts freak I guess. This font did more than cheer me up - I was elated! Thank you for your terrific selection to choose from. I will be back, I can guarantee that. Have a good day all of you and take care of yourselves. Sincerely, Janey Murray

Dear MyFonts:

Your site, your newsletters and interviews are great. You are the only I go to for fonts.

One feature I would love to see is a ‘Wish list’ or ‘Like list’. There are times when I stumble upon fonts I really like but either I don't need them for the project I am working on or I can't afford to divulge at the time. This kind of feature would enable me to see all the fonts I have previously marked as ‘Liked’ and see if they fit a particular project. Also with a ‘Wish List’ similar to Amazon it would enable others to purchase fonts for you for Birthday gifts or special treats! :)

Thank you

Dear MyFonts:

Hi,

I've recently purchased the Alana font, and am wondering if you could help me out here. How would I be able to display the alternative versions to one letter? For example the lowercase “y” letter in Alana seems to have a decorative version (as in their promo image), where I can only generate the normal version of it when I type “y” on my keyboard.
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Dear MyFonts:

Hi,

Is there an option for generating headlines for comp purposes? Most times I need to sell a look before I can purchase the fonts. I need to incorporate the font I want to use into my layouts to do so...is this possible? Thx.

Because MyFonts is not permitted to provide copies of fonts for testing, we provide a wide range of tools for trying out fonts. On many pages you will see a 'Sample Text' box where you can enter your own sample text in place of the default AaBbCc..., or select one of the many alternate display options available. You can also change the point size. If the font is offered with OpenType variants, I think you'll find if you select the 'ff' option, then click/unclick the various OpenType options available you will be able to view the sample text as such.

Dear MyFonts:

I look at MyFonts at least once a day. I buy fonts way too often, but it’s like a paint color to me, a texture, a mood, a feeling to use in my graphic design work. I love your site. I just discovered that I can see samples of all my fonts in my order history. I know I need to get a font manager one day but you've just pushed that day out farther. This is the coolest thing, I thank you for this feature.

Hey MyFonts,
Love your site. I only shop thru you. One pretty major complaint... in the past when I would find a font I like I could click “more fonts like this” and it would return excellent options similar to the original chosen. Currently your “more fonts like this” returns 15,000 plus results that are meaningless. PLEASE make your results more relevant!

Posted on January 05, 2012

MyFonts says:
Hmmmmmmmm. We'll have to look in to that. As a temporary work around you can still access the original website. SImply replace the 'www' or 'new' in the url with 'old'. You can get back to the 'new' site by selecting the "Psst… check out the new MyFonts site." in the upper left corner of your browser window

Dear MyFonts:

Hi guys

this has got to be one of my favourite websites. so easy to navigate and purchase and great customisation through the albums etc.

I was thinking that it would be cool to have a little green icon or something next to the fonts that I have already purchased. Sometimes I forget exactly which ones I have bought for various projects and it’s a bit of a drag going back into suitcase and searching for it.

it would be really cool to look down my album list or my search results and have an obvious indicator next to each font that i already have.

cheers and keep up the great work.

Dear MyFonts:

I just searched for a font using WTF & it couldn't find a match. I discovered it’s called Kompakt & you have a montype version so why didn't it find it ?

Posted on November 15, 2011

MyFonts says:
Although listed, we do not offer the 'Kompakt' font for purchase. Without seeing the sample image that's a tough question to answer. Sometimes there's minute variants that will change the search results. You may want to try eliminating a few glyphs in your sample to see if you get different results.

Dear MyFonts:

Dear MyFonts,

I love your site, but find it not very easy to overlook it. Some symbols I don't understand and could find no explanaition. For example, the skullsymbol beneath some of the fonts is irritating me very much. What does it mean, is this font dangerous for my computer, something unclear about the copyright or any danger else for me as a user?

Thanks or answering and best regards,

Sandra

Posted on November 10, 2011

MyFonts says:
That's part of the tagging system we have for fonts. Where the skull is a bit of an 'over the top' negative we're going to be changing that to another icon in the near future... I believe. :-)

Dear MyFonts:

I don't know much about your service, and from the commentary below, it seems like it may be okay.

However - it’s really annoying to have to sign up for your service to download a bunch of free fonts, tell you who will be using it and on what website.

The only reason I actually did all this is because I couldn't find Museo anywhere else, and didn't want to just pirate it.

If there’s a problem with the font itself it would be nice to contact the Armasen foundry so they could fix it because disregard this it’s a really nice typeface.

Dear MyFonts:

Hi,

Working on designing a new CMS and things looked dandy in Ubuntu until I booted fresh RHEL 6 desktop where it looked like complete crap. Installing my commercial fonts helped, but the defaults just didn't cut it, I'm not sure why as they did in RHEL 5. I suspect something weird with default fontconfig, which fonts it is picking or something, not sure - just looks like crap.

Anyway, I started playing with using web fonts from google as a way to reduce the problem of systems with few fonts etc. and it mostly works, but I just can't find a quality web font there that works well with body text of articles of significant length. I'd rather pay for a good web font than have a mediocre one for free.

Any chance you could have one of your gurus write up some articles on quality web fonts, what to look for and what works?

One of the issues I'm having with the free google fonts is it initially looks really good but after a few minutes of actually reading, I'm just tired of looking at it. I'm not a font guru so I don't know why, but if it starts to annoy me then I shouldn't use it ...

Thanks,

Michael

Dear MyFonts:

I work in publishing and this website is my first point of call for buying and searching for fonts, however my one gripe (sorry) is your More Fonts Like this button. For instance looking at Obsession - a beautiful script font - it gives me 13,000+ alternatives (?!!) most of which on the first page are san serif contemporary fonts like Proto sans, Mr Jones, Zepto...

It’s such a useful button to have, but is such a waste of my time - I just wish it worked better.

Other than that, My fonts is fab.

I've really enjoyed finding all the recent changes to the website! The help chat is nice (although I haven't had to use it yet), and I particularly like the new Glyphs page layout and Glyph Details feature. Even some of the little things, like moving the Glyphs tab next to the Waterfall tab, make a huge difference. My only request would be that Glyphs be the default instead of Waterfall. Or perhaps that could become a user-defined setting, so that each person can choose which tab opens when he clicks the font style?

Ah, now while I’m at it – sometimes the text one gets in The Tag Game isn't super helpful, something as short as “Oh Lord!” or the like. A minimum of letters would be good and put in some of the key characters by definition. Best of course would be a pangram or even whole alphabet.
Also, does it say the name of the fonts only after I voted to make it a game of guessing the typeface at the same time? Otherwise it would be cool to have a link to the typeface right on the same page.

Dear MyFonts - no doubt you caught the recent PBS special about the Revival of the last WOOD-TYPE FOUNDRY in the USA, Hamilton Wood Type in Two Rivers Wisconsin. Could you link up with this dedicated group of typophile & share their wonderfully hand-hewn & well-worn, distressed treasure trove? They currently all “strikes”, most;y posters & books, but no font sets. Perhaps they are so dedicated to the hand-print process, digitization is anathema to them (??). But currently my clients are BEGGING for fitted, multiple-font compositors consisting of antique woodcut revival fonts. Ironwood & Playbill (with some Clarendons, Circus-inspired fonts (e.g. Rosewood) alone won't get it done. The new Yana Family is a good down payment....MORE, NOW, PLEASE. MyFonts - just wrote you a glowing testimonial. THANK YOU for listening to me (& others no doubt) regarding our insatiable need for NEW SCRIPTS, especially LEGIBLE-calligraphic ones with multiple glyphic options & swash-options. Now we need this to Renaissance to expand into “hand done” scripts which are woefully inadequate (e.g: a Dear Sarah or Cenizias on STEROIDS...as if the new Monaco Family is cross bread with Voluta Script, Clients are complaining about scripts being “too commercial” and want some rough-hewn, even brushed-generated options. Still Need LEGIBLE “S” and cap=G’s need to just be giant Lower-case G;s. Need swashes, families in varying weights, ligatures, beginnings & ending loops, and OPTIONS. It would be really nice to be able to add fonts to a kind of wishlist to save for purchasing later when one can afford. I hate losing fonts :( (and of course then sifting through thousands to find that exact one that I wanted, which I don't even end up finding!!)

Wishlist is a big big thing! Thanks! :)

Have you tried saving fonts to an album? A font album is a place to store fonts that you may want to purchase later. You can also share font albums with friends. You will need to be logged in to your MyFonts account to do this. To add a font to a font album: Click 'add to album' from any page this option is displayed. Often you will find you need to place your cursor over the display to have the 'Add to Album' option available.

Dear MyFonts:

Thank you so much for ‘What The Font’ it saves me time often when I'm given a logo to reproduce and can't figure out what font was used. Thank you, thank you!

Dear MyFonts:

Thanks for your reply regarding the chat. But the problem is the processor or memory load caused by the chat script, which applies whether the chat window is open or not. When there are multiple MyFonts windows open the effect is compounded, until the browser freezes up. I don't know for sure that it is the chat scripts responsible, but something has changed recently as I never used to have this problem.

Dear MyFonts:

I used to use MyFonts with joy, but now Firefox slows to a crawl with more than a couple of MyFonts tabs open. I believe the problem is to do with the pointless “Chat” feature. Can you do anything to fix this? Because it makes MyFonts just about unusable for me.

Dear MyFonts,

As a casual “dabbler” in the marketing world I've benefited from the wares of your site in the past and even downloaded a font or two in the process for use on projects. Your site is great and your newsletter is informative. However, I'm writing today to tell you how much I appreciate your “WhatTheFont” function. This tool is a GREAT resource; spectacularly easy to use and rewarding in its results. Well done!

Many thanks for your dedication to the craft and unwavering support for making all things “font oriented” enjoyable and accessible to users.

When will the Albums see some upgrading?

Id like to see some better way to organize albums.
I have quite many albums in my list: some for specific projects, some for categories. Most of the times id like to add my finds in many albums. And sometimes the album i need to add to is buried quite deep into list (sans serif album) for example.

Would be nice if i could rearrange the album order. Or some way to access recently used albums at the top of the list.

Hi Guys

Just wanted you to know that having a webkit is a great help, especially for us designers that focus 99% on art and aren't programming wizards. It’s great to get auto-generated CSS for using custom fonts in “normal” browsers and the extra EOT for Internet Explorer.

Dear MyFonts:

I have discovered a way in which you can improve the album creation process. I noticed that the only time I am offered the option to create a new album is when I try to add a type family to a pre-existing album from the link in the sidebar. There does not appear to be a button or link on the albums page itself that allows me to do this. Including said feature would make your wonderful site a little better. Hope that helps. Thanks for letting users post feedback.

Dear MyFonts:

Why on Earth can your website not process PayPal payments immediately, like every other website I've ever done business with that uses it? None of them have any "3-4 business days to process orders by e-check" disclaimers. This is a major gripe for me, as I am a regular customer of your site and would really like not to be expected to drag out a credit/debit card for each purchase, or store info for a card on your site where hackers can get at it, just to download my fonts immediately. Please explain why it should take you so much longer.

Posted on April 20, 2011

MyFonts says:
Normal PayPal "instant" payments really are instant. It's only if you use a bank account with no backup source of funding (i.e. e-check) that it takes several days to clear.

Dear MyFonts:

Dear MyFonts:

I love your newsletter, and the fonts here are beautiful. I know I will get a great quality font when I purchase from my fonts. But to be honest, when time is of the essence, and I need a font - this new site is agonizingly slooooooow. It kills me to get a font from one of the free sites, but at least I can do it in a matter of seconds rather than waiting for the different categories to load. You have a lot of great features, but maybe you should take a piece of advice from 37 Signals - keep it functional, and simple. Too many sweets ultimately results in nausea - you get the point, I'm sure.

This new site blows. Its so much harder to find what I am looking for and not only that you get thousands of fonts that you have to sift through now when on the old site I could sort through it alot easier. Click on the find a similar font button and forget about finding what you are looking for. Bring back the old site, it was WAY EASIER than this one.

Just a thought: Every time I see the "+WEB" button in the font examples, I think it will lead to a web rendering of the example font. This being said, I think the present link it has to the TOS is confusing and underworded and that a real-time web rendering of each web-font is warranted.

There’s a serious issue with tagging that I've just noticed. If i REMOVE one of my tags from a font, it still shows up in that tag list (for example, /my/tags/wishlist/). Refreshing, logging out and back in, nothing removes it from that list even after the tag is gone!

Hello again my name is kevin i wrote you about some of the formats to use from purchasing a font from myfonts thank you for your promt response and the insight to the required formats to use i had just one oter question about the format process from one of your outlets in miami based at Bayside Marketplace store Hat Shack ok i spoke to a Customer Support representative at Lids.com i asked about the format of (EMB) and (DST) what they replied with was that the font format would need to be Digitized , and then implemented into the format font style usage. What type of digitizing would be best from your standpoint as far as the font then to the embroidery company to use.

Thank You...

Dear MyFonts:

I like the overall format change but there is one frustrating part for me.

I often view glyphs in the OpenType format looking for alternate character shapes to complement my current project and grouping all forms of a character is a great improvement. However I tire quickly of browsing through all of the accented characters because the list can seem to go on forever when a font has multiple alternate letterforms and the designer has dutifully included all the possible accents for each form! e.g. Maestro Pro with 140 cap “A” listings but only 14 changes in the shape or style of the basic character.

I realize that I'm now a part of a worldwide typographic community where accents and language specific glyphs are a necessity. However, could they be moved to the bottom of the list where accents used to be found and have only the core characters and alternates at the top for easy browsing?

An alternative might be to have an option in your selection bar for OpenType with standard and alternate forms and another with accents.

Posted on January 06, 2011

MyFonts says:
On the glyphs page you should see an option called 'Display Mode'. Here you can select 'Straight glyph dump', 'Ordered Graphic', or 'Experimental'. This is a work in progress, so... stay tuned!

Dear MyFonts:

sending more feedback as i go along. Although i really love the site, I would like to see the “ Already Purchased” notification for fonts already ordered. I don't think many people will go around ticking the “I own it” box, but if the notification were automatic, it would make things easier for the user!
Thanks!

Dear MyFonts:

Dear Myfonts,
Unlike earlier posts, I have had no trouble in adding fonts to albums. My trouble lies in removing them. Pressing the ‘Remove’ button worked on one or two fonts I tried to take out of an album but with most of them it does not work -- at least for me. I like the new site though!

I can’t add a font to an existing album when I click on the «Add family to album» button. I have a list of my exixting albums but clicking on them do nothing.

I run Safari Version 5.0.2 (6533.18.5) on Mac OS X 10.6.4.

Thanks!

Dear MyFonts:

I do very much enjoy your site and all of the different fonts, but im terrible at remembering names.

Lots of the time whilst looking I will see some great, really interesting fonts that would work very well for other projects but not for what i'm working on at the time.

It would be so sweet if there was some kind of ‘wishlist’ similar to amazon or a ‘light box’ similar to istock to add fonts to so i could mark fonts for later download to keep them in the back of my mind instead of starting from scratch each project.

Please let me know if there is a feature similar to this already and I just havn't found it yet!

You mean, like being able to save fonts you're interested in to some sort of 'Album' for reference, and for future purchase? How about creating an Album? A font album is a place to store fonts that you may want to purchase later. You can also share font albums with friends. You will need to be logged in to your MyFonts account to do this. To add a font to a font album: Click 'add to album' from any page this option is displayed. Often you will find you need to place your cursor over the display to have the 'Add to Album' option available. To access your font albums: Log in to your MyFonts user account Select 'your name>Albums' in the upper center of your browser window Click the font album you want to display To share a font album: Go to your 'Albums' page Select the font album you want to share Click 'Share - e-mail a link to this Album' Enter the e-mail addresses of the friends you want to share your album with, as well as a personal message to them Click 'Send' to share your album!

Dear MyFonts:

Since when do webfonts require an extra 50% charge? Try explaining that to clients for me. Until then, I will be buying fonts for the web elsewhere.

Dear MyFonts ...
I don't know WHY the redesigned site is so slow. Granted, I'm on what’s now considered obsolete technology (PPC Mac, G5, Tiger), but it should operate more quickly than it does. I tried switching back to the old site and find that IT runs more slowly now as well. Please do what you can to make the site flow the way it used to. If you feel that my equipment is the problem, I'd like to know that as well. Thanks in advance ...

I like the beta site. Finding and testing the different fonts was easy. Completing the transaction was easy. I am a web developer based in Boston, MA. I have built many shopping carts. From that experience I can tell you that your solution was easy and elegant, from finding the font to checking out. Good job.

Dear MyFonts:

Still my favorite site for fonts, free and not free!! Your website is very user-friendly!!!

Posted on December 01, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

How do you update the quantity of users you want to use the font? Even though I change it where it says 1-5 users then click check out, it doesn't take. If you are going to have field that can be changed there needs to be an update button.

Once you enter a new number in the # users field, hit the key. Any discounts for multi-license purchases should automatically be applied.

Dear MyFonts:

The redesign has completely changed the way I browse and get inspired by fonts – not only on your site, but on the internet in general. Your newsletters are great, especially the upcoming fonts round-ups. If anything, I'd like to see more conservative typographers and fonts, there’s a lot of scripty stuff going around...

Oh, and let me know when you get tied in with typekit – that would be truly amazing. Keep up the good work!

Posted on November 30, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

I'm so far super happy with the site! I purchased a font called Baka Too, and am happy it comes with up to 5 licenses so my partner can also work on our website. The font selection is overwhelming with choice and I love that you offer free options as well. Thank you!

Dear MyFonts:

Hey there,

I am since long addicted to your site. When your redesign came out I was at first a bit nerved by it, but it did not take long. And I think it is a “normal” human reaction to any change. Since then I really enjoy the small and tasteful functionality goodies you have packed in there. Really nice. All the comfort of the functionality without distracting me from the content. Kudos really on that. And the new logo is also really something I would like to grab and stuff into my pocket to take it home. Was it Underware?
Greetings from Munich, Germany and keep bringing on the fonts.

Anikó

PS: Creative Characters book was a great idea. When do we have Vol. 2?

Posted on November 27, 2010

MyFonts says:
The new MyFonts logo was indeed designed by the Netherlands design team 'Underware' in consultation with MyFonts designer Nick Sherman. You can read more about it here: http://blog.myfonts.com/107 Unfortunately it is not available as a font at this time. As for volume 2 of 'Creative Characters', I'm sure it will be forthcoming, however, as volume 1 is still new, only time will tell regarding a volume 2 release! :-)

Dear MyFonts:

Great site, great fonts, when I need a particular font for a project this is one of the sites I start my search on.
The site runs nice, no problems what so ever, I've downloaded a dozen or so free fonts with no problems, great job with everything.

Thanks so much

Dear MyFonts:

I'd like to express my frustration regarding the lack of Polish and CE diacritics in the vast majority of the fonts you sell. I am currently looking for a corporate id font and was ready to buy Options Sans, but - just like most others - it doesn't support my country’s language. Also, it seems there is no way to communicate this to the makers via this site, other than by giving a low rating to a font. Please make it possible for users to search for CE-enabled fonts. Right now I need to enter the standard pangram "zażółć waść gęślą jaźń" and manually sieve through a long list of garbage.

On the Advanced Search page: http://new.myfonts.com/search/ you can select 'language support', then select the language you wish to search for. You can do this on the 'Glyphs' page, specific to the font in question.

Fonts are scalable, meaning you can set them to any size you wish. Any limitation/restriction would be specific to the application being used. You will want to be sure the font format you purchase is compatible with the software being used by your sign making company.

Dear MyFonts:

I love your site!!

I have two comments:

I would appreciate a more comprehensive font category section—there are too many sans serifs to wade through. You got it right with the serifs though for some reason…

Also, you do not have a link to a foundry list. I can’t remember the names half the time, let alone a font that they have designed to try and find their foundry if I like their work, which is kind of backwards. Maybe even having a foundry album would be useful too.

Anyway, hope you guys are having a chill time.

Dear MyFonts:

Dear My Fonts,

I love your site, and have spent hours happily looking at fonts that I hope to one day be able to afford. That said, the only thing I would think of changing is when there are a lot of “buying choices” including bundles of 4, 6, 8 ...whole families of fonts, it is sometimes hard to know what fonts are included in which bundle. . .for instance, in the “Calluna” set, the Basic has 4 fonts, the Medium has 6 and the complete has 8. . .I can pretty much guess what is included in those three choices, but there is nothing on the page to indicate what I would be paying for. . .and some font families have huge “buying choices”. Is there ar way to make this clearer?

I’d love to see some of the fonts I purchased on the web as webfonts. Started to use typekit.com, which is easy and reliable, and would appreciate if you could collaborate or offer your own webfont service. Please, dont be the last to make that move... Jochen

Dear MyFonts:

K, I love this site! It’s great for finding new fonts, old fonts, ALL FONTS!!! ...and not to mention the font identifying tools for us graphic designers. Overall a wonderful resource.

My one and only critique of the WhatTheFont forum is if I post an image in the forum and someone identifies it, I don't know they have until I check back every now and then ...and who has time to keep going back every 5 minutes and hitting the refresh button. It’s just not practical. ....however, I get my sponsored “Rising Stars” emails a couple times a month, which is fine, but why can't we be notified when someone I.D.'s one of our fonts on WTF forum?

I tried to look in my account settings and there’s not even an option. Am I missing something or is this just not even an option? Do we have to manually check back every so often? Is that the only way?

Thanks! URG

MyFonts says:
On the WTF 'Open a new case' page you should find the option 'Notify me by email when there is activity on my case' down at the bottom. This option should default to being checked. You should receive an e-mail to the address of the MyFonts user account you were logged in to when you posted your sample whenever someone responds.

Dear MyFonts:

I find adding to an album requires too many clicks and is very slow when trying to add a lot of fonts. Firstly, I don't think we need an OK button after adding and choosing an album.

Then, perhaps you could select one album per session, and all additions then go to that album without any interruptions to the flow. This would also necessitate a separate change album button to cover all bases

Otherwise, I'm really enjoying the site, thanks.

In “More fonts like this”, could there be an option to change the letter, please? Sometimes fonts have nearly identical a’s, but other letters differ greatly. Mainly for font recognition purpose; but then, those for whom we recognize fonts on “WhatTheFont” forum are quite encouraged to buy them, right?

Dear MyFonts:

Would just like to say that I liked your old receipt system better, that would add your comments to it. Usually, I buy fonts for use on a specific project and need to make a note of which project, for tax purposes. Obviously, this looks much better when it’s part of the receipt rather than written in my chicken scratch after it’s been printed.

Posted on September 13, 2010

You can enter notes/comments to your purchases in your Order History, however, the notes will be specific to the display in your account, as opposed to the printed PDF receipt. Let's present this option to our web team and see where we end up!! :-) Well, our push worked. You can now add comments to your PDF receipts! Thanks for the suggestion!

Dear MyFonts:

I am traditionally a loyal customer- but MyFonts has earned my business! Everything, including the details here for an advanced user such as myself is handled. Dear MyFonts:

Hi MyFonts,

I think it would be neat to have a section on the site for users to upload their own font file (TTF,OTF,etc.) and see how it looks displayed on the site as if it were already posted. That way they can see how it looks in context and surrounded by other fonts. It wouldn't cost anything and be hassle-free. This would not only increase the traffic to your site, but also bring in prospective designers with new fonts.

Anyway, thanks for listening.

Posted on September 09, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

I'm sorry - this is the third post - you can delete them all; I just have to think those who spend hours doing the same process as me think this every now and then - I think the reason the mind wants to have the assurance that there are 2,317 total as you go is because you see the right scroll bar and it ‘looks’ like it’s almost to the bottom but every time it loads 50 more it’s like you're ‘in the middle’ again. It tricks the brain, which can endure if it knows how much closer it is to the finish, but each time the blue scroll bar hops back up to only 60% down the brain says ‘dang, I thought I was almost finished.’

Posted on September 09, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

BTW, I know it says how many fonts remain when you hit the bottom of the page 50-more-results refresh, but when you're scanning slowly 1 by 1 you don't ‘catch up’ to see this. You instead quick scroll to the bottom to see how many it will load, but by that quick scroll you can quickly lose your place when you try to return.

MyFonts says:
Oops, thanks. I'll fix that soon.

Dear MyFonts:

One of the things that I liked about the old site, and the reason that I still use it, is that it didn't *demand* that I have a really wide browser window set up. I like having the choice to keep my browser window narrow (around 800 pixels). Just because I have a huge monitor doesn't mean that I want to fill it with a web browser, you know?

Current workaround; Stylish! That wonderful Firefox plug-in that lets the user decide how the Web should be presented.

For anyone else that would like a slimmer site design as well, here is the Stylish script:

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

@-moz-document domain(“new.myfonts.com”) {
.autobox-with-tabs .local-tabs, .columns, .two_column_layout, #myfonts_container, #myfonts_container, div#myfontsBody, div#myfontsLegal, #testdrive_controls.docked, #myfonts_header { width: 760px !important }
.slideshowWidget { display: none !important }
.two_column_layout .main_column { width: 520px !important }
#testdrive_controls { width: 520px !important; height: 70px !important; }
.two_column_layout .main_column .autobox-with-tabs #cart_buttons { left: 544px !important; }
#myfonts_header div.main_tab#search_tab { top: 35px !important; }
}

I *think* that catches everything. Not that will also strip out the, what I feel is, superfluous “slide show” feature. I'm interested in the fonts mainly here, not some photographer’s pretty pictures of the fonts taking up 75% of my “above the fold” space. It will make the font preview control twice as tall to fit the various options, and moves the search box in up into the white space above the main tabs.

The main thing I found interesting was how easy it was to move things around. There is a *lot* of wasted spaces in this design. That the entire thing fits compactly into 760 pixels means you really ought to rethink the whole “forced 978px minimum” edict.

Why is there no foundries section on the new site?

The old site seemed more serious about type, better organization, easier to find information, and less glitz.

I know you're still working on the character maps, but why don't you use the coding for the old ones if the new ones aren't up and running. I liked being able to view one glyph closeup.

Dear MyFonts:

I love the new live sample text preview with OTF features like ligatures and alternates support. However, I noticed 1 thing is that certain fonts when having the “Fit to width” option checked, will have the right most letter cut off due to the width limit. However, isn't the feature should adjust the font so that all text should be visible perfectly?

An example is Jekatap by ActiveSphere. When typing “Samba De Janerio” as a preview string and “Fit to width” option checked. The Italic, Bold and Italic Bold version of the preview string have part of the ‘o’ at the right most cut off...

Dear MyFonts:

I think you should have some sort of standard commercial and personal licence for the fonts here. The licences are way to varied and many of them are not very clear on what you are allowed to do with the fonts. Also, I have seen fonts with a “commercial” license where is seems you are not allowed to even send a JPEG file with text using the font to a commercial printer. You are only allowed to print it on a printer connected to your own computer. How can that be a “commercial” licence? I have searched for fonts today and found several I liked but decided against buying because the licence is either too unclear or too limited. Also I think you should include the licenses in your font downloads. There is one font I downloaded a few months ago where I suspect that the licence has changed on the site since I downloaded it. But I cant find any licence in my download (easy installer) so I cant be sure.

Posted on August 16, 2010

MyFonts says:
Foundryies are leaning towards a more standard single license format,as opposed to maintaining dual 'Personal' and 'Commercial' licenses. You can view any Foundry license agreement by selecting the 'Buying Choices' tab for any font, or font family, then selecting the 'View License' link. Also, if you place a font in your MyFonts shopping cart you should find a license link for each font. Click this to access the selling Foundry License Agreement. You can right-click the option and select to view in an alternate window. (MAC users will want to 'Ctrl-click' the license option) Once purchased you can also go to your MyFonts account 'Order History' and select any of the packages you’ve purchased. If you scroll down to 'Option #2: Advanced' you will see a license link next to each font in that package. If you have any questions regarding licensing feel free to contact us directly at help@myfonts.com

Dear MyFonts:

Font Designers: I need a KeyCaps Font!
I've searched the web for a web-licensed keyboard font that has the Windows Flag, Macintosh Clover, all the special keys that are needed for computer software instructional pages. Instructions like "Type your name, press <Tab>, type your email, press <Ctrl>-<Alt>-E (on OS-X, press <Clover>-E), and <Left-Click> OK."

Don't need all the alphabetic, number, punctuation characters, just the special keys, that are legible and look good next to normal sized text, on web pages.

Prefer it be a separate font, so can use simple commands like <KBD>e</KBD> to display <Enter> or <KBD>c</KBD> to display <Ctrl>, or <KBD>4</KBD> to display the Clover. None of those awkward <#65432;> character codes, that don't even show in most character maps!

See http://www.lernerconsult.com/keycaps.php for what I've worked through, using KeyCaps CSS and Wingdings. But a good, free font would be Better.

It would even be good marketing, since all those computer writers would recommend your web site...

MyFonts says:
Keycaps and Ratkeys could be used for this. Not free or web-licensed yet though.

Dear MyFonts:

It would be nice to see the comments behind the star ratings on a font. It would also be nice to see the reply by the creator to that rating. For example the font Papyrus has a one star rating. Give me a break! That is one of the most popular and commonly used fonts ever. That font might not be hip enough for many designers but it is unfair to the original font designer to just let a rating like that stand with no reply for future buyers to read. Am I missing a place to read the comments?

Posted on August 06, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

A lot of font sites I go to are very clunky. They all have cheesy graphics with bad shadows and bad typefaces on all the buttons and labels. The last thing I'm going to believe is that a site that has bad fonts on the homepage has stellar fonts inside (Kinda like the old site. Sorry, but it doesn't work anymore). And then I came here one day. Hooh! This beta is a DREAM!!! It has such a nice interface. Nothing feels out of place about it. Everything is like, “Well, of course it’s that way. Why would it be any other way?” It’s so good! You people did such a great job with this. All I can say that might need improving is explaining what some of the tags/categories mean. But even that is so minimal compared to all the things this does. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

Much Love, Me.

Dear MyFonts:

There is no shortage of sites from which one search, sort and purchase fonts. Many lack variety of selection or depth of functionality. With MyFonts, I continue to be impressed by the clarity of content, ease an number of features, the numerous font offerings, and frequency of new fonts.

I don't favorite many sites, but I have wisely placed MyFonts among those few.

Thank you,

Thanks for the Kudos! We have quite a good team put together, and with the variety of designers and fonts available everything seems to 'click' in both the new website, and the MyFonts newsletters. I'll be sure to pass your kind words along to the team!

Dear MyFonts:

Please don't pick up on that trend of pandering to people who are frightened of more than a paragraph of text. These people just need to go watch television. Having a “Read more” button that requires JavaScript and performs the function of revealing all 3 remaining words is not only ridiculous, but insulting to your intelligent users.

Would like an option for a “slimmer” site experience. I don't need all of this AJAX cruft.

Posted on July 25, 2010

MyFonts says:
It's not so much to avoid frightening people, but to bring the focus of the page — the fonts — up high enough on the page that you can actually see them when the page loads. We tried putting the text below the font renderings but it just didn't feel right.

You're right of course that clicking to reveal three words is silly. I'll check the algorithm.

Dear MyFonts:

The “dollar” character supplied as the default is actually the “peso” character. The dollar has TWO vertical lines rather than one. Is the an “alt” key combination to get the correct dollar sign? Thanks.

Posted on July 23, 2010

MyFonts says:
Isn't the 'peso' sign a 'P' with 2 horizontal lines through it? An online search finds the dollar sign to be listed with either a single, or a dual vertical line through some version of an 'S'. You will want to send your query directly to the Helpdesk. Please let them know the font in question, along with the MyFonts order number so they may assist.

Your site has fonts I have not seen before.

Dear MyFonts:

Hello!
MyFonts Beta is great. I love the possibility to search for fonts with specific language support. It’s very helpful for my work.
But one thing I miss: a function to print a sample text. Because it’s difficult to judge the font for books/long texts. On the screen the quality is too bad (pixels…).
Thanks.
With kind regards!

Great feature - and is it me or is it slicker now than it used to be.

Dear MyFonts:

Why is there no option to search just by the beginning or end of a font name? There’s a font whose appearance I can remember, and which I can remember the first letter of, but I can't remember the rest of the name-- and the only options are ‘contains’ and ‘does not contain’.

Posted on July 11, 2010

MyFonts says:
If you can remember part of the font name, try a wildcard search. Searching for 'Swis' (without quotes) will not yield any results, however, searching for 'swis*' (without quotes) will indeed fonts all the 'Swiss' fonts. If you change the first field from 'any' to 'name' it will zero in on fonts only with 'Swiss' in the name.

Dear MyFonts:

This site has got to be one of my favorite sites of all time. The weekly newsletter is something I absolutely LOVE and has never, ever, over the last few years, been something that I have gotten tired of! Thank you so much for making this site available! Dear MyFonts:

Brilliant
Just figured out you can drag fonts in an album into your own order - fantastic - trouble is it took ages to realise that you can only drag the line under the font title e.g. “family of 4 fonts” 'cos everything else is a link
Well at least in Google Chrome browser which I love.
Think you need a “handle” that’s obvious to users to drag up.down.
Totally brilliant site and can only help sell fonts rather than steal them...

Posted on July 10, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

I think this site is the best font site in the world.
I love it.
One small thought to make it even better.
Ask all the users to send in their best work using fonts from here and set up a gallery of great work.
(I know there are a few examples, i'm talking about top end work, all the award winning work.)
Cross link the work to the fonts as well, just to make sure creative chaps see all the great examples and possibilities using these fonts.
Maybe hand out free font packages for doing this.
I believe your sales would be even higher, as more creatives see the possible uses.
As the gallery grows you would also become the greatest typography artwork gallery in the world.
No one would go anywhere else.

Best Regards. Todd.

Dear MyFonts:

In your July “Rising Stars” you say the old site might be retired soon. I really like the beta site, but I also like the old one! Don't be too quick to retire it. It has a purpose and it gives users a choice.

When it’s time for me to buy or just window shop (browser window, of course), MyFonts is the only place I visit. No company does a better job than you do. Thanks for everything!

Dear MyFonts:

On long lists of specimens, I love the way the page auto-loads as you scroll, but there is no list-length indication to give you any feedback to where you are in the list. Many times I give up earlier than I would if I knew there was only a a 1/4 of the way left to go in the list. I'm sure this is a coding challenge, but even an updating indicator in the “View Options” box that indicated every 10 specimens "720-730 of 2,501 fonts" would be helpful.

Great job on the site though

Dear MyFonts:

Dear MyFonts,

Dear MyFonts:

I advise all members to carefully review their account privacy settings. My account suddenly seemed to finalize and place orders without requiring me to enter any financial account information. I was asked to affirm use of a particular credit card.

I don't believe that is the way the account worked previously, and it is not the way I wish it to work, but it seems easy enough to change privacy settings.

Posted on July 09, 2010

MyFonts says:
This is in fact how it has always been. You can un-check the "remember for next time" box when entering credit card information, and the card will not be saved with your account after the purchase. You can also delete previously stored credit cards during checkout.

Dear MyFonts:

Overall I like alot. One issue: when I add something to the cart or my album,
when I return to browse further, the text would revert to what was on the site when I first signed on, and I'd have to keep typing in the new relevant text each time.

Posted on July 08, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

I love the new myfonts site...it’s actually the only one I am familiar. Occasionally a link will direct me to the old format which I really do not like at all. It seems to mostly happen on the WTF forum. Seems some older members prefer the older site to the new, but it’s sort of annoying when they link you into the old format and then you have to manually redirect yourself back into the new format.

Is the old format going to be obliterated completely at any point in the future, or does it remain for archive purposes? Or perhaps, are the old archives (namely in the WTF forum) going to be reformatted to match the new style?

Posted on July 08, 2010

MyFonts says:
The old site will remain around for the forseeable future -- basically as long as anyone is using IE6.

Dear MyFonts:

Looks good, but it hung my elderly IE 6!

It will do that! Note that it works great if you install Chrome Frame plugin for IE. Look at the "Too slow?" link at the top right.

Dear MyFonts:

The beta forum doesn't seem to work right for me -- whenever i go to it, all i see are a bunch of squares, probably where images should be. Same thing with the WTF section of my profile. I don't have any ad blockers, and haven't gotten around to locking down this laptop yet. Using Google Chrome on Windows 7, if that helps.

Dear MyFonts:

Hi All,

Great site. The old one is better than the new one. The new one hangs up when you come to the end of the page, then reloads more pictures but very slowly.
When the page finally reloads, you don't know where you left off and have to search for the last previewed font.
Old site better by far.

Posted on July 07, 2010

MyFonts says:
You can un-check "load results as I scroll" in the right sidebar. Or even better: use Chrome Frame or a different browser than IE! Check the "Too slow?" link at the top right of the page for some options.

You guys are the bestest... Beta is so nice - why is it still beta? Where is carotene?... I love you... I don't know why... I don't even enjoy doing typography that much. Well, it’s ONLY Tuesday - that’s why I feel this way...

Posted on July 06, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

The ‘new’ MyFonts site is beautiful, functional, fast and feature-packed. I love it, and use it all the time.

I just wonder why it’s still ‘beta’? It seems to have been in testing for such a long time (years now?).

The ‘old’ site is horrible - why don't you just flick the switch and make this the ‘only’ site already? I'm sure you must be losing customers who just see the old site and don't notice the link to the new one!

Posted on July 04, 2010

MyFonts says:
Thanks for the kind words!! We can't quite 'flick' the switch just yet... still have a few more things to bring over from the old site. Plus, there's still a world of users that aren't yet up to speed with Javascript, and the new site relies heavily on it. Soooon though, soon ;-)

Dear MyFonts:

(continued from previous)
Something like that, yes, with an optional URL. In essence it’s no different to the often asked Unity by Yomar Augusto, which is a custom font for Adidas, but because people can link to his portfolio, it’s possible to name the font in the ID tool, but the font is no more available to the public than Tape Don is. Some possibility to ID an unavailable font by name without having to provide a link, so at least the name will show on the main forum page.

Posted on July 03, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

There are many cases on the forum where fonts are identified, but there is no url to link to. For instance, there’s a case here
http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/forum/case/297285/
identifying Tape Don by Mecanorma. There doesn't seem to be even a scan of Tape Don available on the internet, and without a valid url there’s no way of using the “identify a font” option, because the url is a required field. Is there a way to get around this (I've tried linking to google or something, but that doesn't work) because essentially, without a url available, there’s no way of making the font name appear on the forum page. Which is a bit of a shame.

Posted on July 02, 2010

MyFonts says:
Hmm. If the font isn't available online anywhere, then it's not particularly useful for an online forum. We don't want to make it too easy to provide an ID without a useful link. Perhaps a "this font doesn't exist online" option would be the best solution.

Dear MyFonts:

Love this website. Easy & simple to use. Needs very little explanation to work out what to do. And hay you list the fonts in “list all” way to that I don't have to click and click endlessly to get from one list of fonts to another. So many other sites offer you pages that you have to click and click.

I would like for you to make it easier for me to add the fonts I like onto my choosen album. There are too many clicks needed to do this and it takes time when I cam tralling through everything. When I see a font I like could the “Add to Album” button have a drop down showing my ablums while still on the font list page. I then select which album and still remain on the font list page. Then I can continue to view the next font quickly. Hope that this is easily codeable.

One of my links was deleted because it was a “pirate” font site that illegally gave free downloads of commercial fonts. I can't remember the link I posted, but I was curious about another free font site I use a lot. Is eaglefonts.com a pirate website?

Posted on June 16, 2010

MyFonts says:
Sometimes fonts are free. Sometimes $$$ fonts are offered free, on select sites. Sometimes fonts are illegally offered free. Although not familiar with 'eaglefonts.com', if a font is a pay font on one site, and 'free' on another, one should proceed with some level of caution. In reviewing some of the fonts on the 'eaglefonts.com' website, we are indeed finding fonts that should 'not' be listed as 'free'. Whenever we hear about such pirate sites, we inform the owners of the fonts and suggest that they send cease and desist letters to the site owners. Although not a perfect solution, we find that it does help reduce the amount of this illegal posting of fonts. Thanks for contacting MyFonts!

Dear MyFonts:

When it lists one font does that mean that it does not have the italic, bold bold italic versions?

Problem with beta site is that when I want to see fonts in a category, it is one extremely long page that causes loading problems for me on everyone’s computer. I need to see page by page, not 5,000 fonts in one continuous scroll. That’s my gripe.

Doesn't load on Mac/Firefox or Safari.

Can't find a font on WhatTheFont.com, because there is no “Submit” button, logo doesn't load.

“Return to the old site” doesn't return to the old site.

Did perchance anyone TEST this site on Mac before launching? It appears to be a disaster.

Dear MyFonts:

http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/forum/case/290648/

In the sample box, I was attempting to show that the text was a combination of lowercase and uppercase letters from Busorama. As I stated in the comments, I typed “feNNoprESS” in the sample box, but for some reason the sample shown is all in caps. If I click the link to Busorama and type the same thing, it shows me the two different E’s and alternate R as shown in the request. Is the sample suddenly not case sensitive anymore? That seems unlikely, or is it just a glitch with this font because they're not really lowercase letters, just alternate caps?

MyFonts-

Thanks for contributing to the ease of font purchasing. My company has been a longtime customer.
Two issues you may want to address, though:
1. You may want to add an “Add to Cart” link in the window where search results appear.
2. I downloaded the zip file for my recent purchase and the beta site’s downloaded file didn't open no matter what I tried. I went back to the old site and downloaded the zip file from there and the zip file opened perfectly.

Dear MyFonts:

Hello MyFonts,

I love the new site. I wanted to request a tiny feature though.

It would be really cool if there were a way to add fonts to albums with just one click, especially on the category/list pages.

Perhaps this could be acomplished by putting a dropdown of my album names when I hover over the “Add the Album” button, then having the “confirmation” message appear within the current page (perhaps in a message banner at the top of the page, like the “Welcome” message).

This is a minor detail, but would greatly speed up the process of building an album and that would be sorted through later.

Thanks, keep up the good work!

I've forwarded this message to our help desk in hopes they can help you out.

Dear MyFonts:

I tried the site in Explorer just to see what people were complaining about. It’s amazing how much slower it is compared to using Chrome. Install the Fastestfox extension in Chrome. Turn of “endless pages” and turn off anything else you don't want. Now you can blaze through MyFonts with your scroll wheel. It doesn't work everywhere on the site but when it does, it’s so handy.

For those of you still browsing with Internet Explorer: I don't understand. If you had paid for your browser, I would understand the reluctance to try something new. But they're both free. If you have a choice between two free things and one of them is more secure and faster, why wouldn't you install the best one? Especially when it comes to security. Why not use a more secure browser when it’s free? Maybe there’s some big disadvantage to not using Explorer but since you can keep both installed, why not compare?

Dear MyFonts:

LOVE the new look and the overall functionality of albums and other areas seems improved/faster (on safari, btw THANK YOU for that) - but - I feel the font categories should be up at top of right side for quick reference all the time and I am NOT a fan of the endless scroll when browsing fonts!!

I used the scroll bar in my browser to get back to the top fast and simply enough but I am getting vertigo looking - completely lost my place while browsing. I mean on the old site if I was, for instance, on page 13 of 50 searched fonts results I could remember there was something a few pages back if I wanted to compare or review - because I had a place to jump back to. With this endless scroll, forget it - was I almost half way down when I saw the swishy font? did I save it to my albums? was I half way before I loaded the next 50???

Dear MyFonts:

Great site. When will it become not beta?

This is really a Bitstream-related question which smacks of a request. It seems that Bitstream, via MyFonts, has become more involved in selling others' fonts than in releasing or updating your own. You have some real winners in your library, but in this world of OpenType megafonts they are quickly becoming dated. It’s a shame when you have a true modern classic such as Carmina, which really needs small caps, text figures, and proportional and tabular figures to be useful, but is stuck in the primitive font world of the '90s. Any chance this typeface and some others will ever be upgraded?

I'd love to see a “tweet this” link on the individual font pages. Just a little blue birdie icon, nothing obtrusive. It would generate a shortened url (j.mp) and a tweet with the name of the font, maybe a #fonts hashtag.

Posted on May 06, 2010

Dear MyFonts:

The new site is frustrating -- loads very s l o w l y. It also isn't keeping my sample type. Every time I enter a comment, my sample type reverts to random sentences. This is not helpful when you're trying to choose a logo font. And the old site is now not letting me enter sample text at all.

I also don't like that I can't move fonts from one album to another. Trying to help a client categorize fonts as “yes” versus “maybe,” it would be helpful to be able to shift fonts between albums without having to completely delete them from one album, and then add them to another.

To the person who complained about $50 -- and peppered his comments with so many puns that some of it is unintelligible -- fonts for professional use typically cost anywhere from $50 to $300. Prices have actually gone down for newer fonts over the past 10 years. Cheap and free fonts cost what they cost because they aren't useful across all mediums. You get what you pay for. I'd be willing to be you're one of the hundreds of newbies who has used Papyrus for a company identity, though.

Posted on May 04, 2010

MyFonts says:

To copy fonts between albums, you can actually click "add to album" within an album itself, and add it to another one. It's not the slickest interface but it works. (Albums need a general going-over on our part to iron out wrinkles.)

I've seen some glitches in the sample text lately too. Investigating.

Dear MyFonts:

Great idea, great logo. The new home page is not as user friendly as the old home page. If you put your About Us and Blog tabs on the front page, instead of buried in that More menu, it would be much better!

Dude...Seriously?
I mean and with all sincerity, we are all trying
to make a living, but $50 bucks for a Daquari

when you came up with ‘What the FONT’!
When someone ‘What the SHELLS’? out $50
bucks for give or take 52 letters you are relying
on real desperate people who must have some
‘GOD Font Saken’ deadline to keep their Graphic
Arts Department internship. I found you at the
Apple Store where some very deserving talented
people give up much more of their time to
DESIGNING freaking awseome “graphics” for
(and I know you've seen their work too - and likely
downloaded a “Font” load of them to your iPhones)
99 Cents! THE MOST EXPENSIVE App on that site
is about $40 Bucks and that software is the
“fonting” medical stuff that saves lives!
O.K.- So I think we have established my point on
pricing, Guys I do know “ What the market will bear”
but the real question is - For how long?
It would really be a ‘Fonting’ shocker to your
Phonts er, I mean Fans, if this post actually goes
up and stays up- but, I can relate, Like I said, We
all have to make a living... Wait! I have an idea!
What if you sold your “Art” for 99 cents each to
millions of people around the globe? I'll bet that
would put a sock in it if you guys sold just (1) one
font for 99 cents multiplied by all those new iPad
users who would like the choice of changing the
font on those millions and millions of books that
will be downloaded... I wonder if you and Amazon,
Stanza, or even Apple themselves could work out
an arangement? Making Real money and so many

Beautiful site. I honestly wouldn't have given the old site a second look, but the branding & user-friendliness of this new site has caused me to switch from your competitors. Now, sit back & soak up the goodness that will come from your newly applied brand & website!

Dear MyFonts:

Thanks for adding the option for foundries to edit their font description. Maybe you can also add that same option to update the designer’s &/or the foundry’s description. Great job, MyFonts Team!

Just brilliant - this site is graphic designer gold. Make it your permanent site.

Dear MyFonts:

Is there a way to keep track of the new webfonts (@font-face) available on MyFonts? (eg: rss?)

Thanks

Not yet. Good idea.

Dear MyFonts:

P.S. I prefer the way the “add to album” works in the old version where it says “font in album” instead of all those pop up windows. Even though it’s only on the font and not on the “search list” it’s a lot easier to use.

All in all I love your site and I can't live without it!

Dear MyFonts:

Hi,
I like the new site, but there is one thing I don't like. When doing a search, say, for “Old English,” there are 1372 results in the old version and 1242 results in the new one. Shouldn't they be the same? Also, the new version takes WAY too long to load. Frequently, I find myself going back to the old version because, even though there are fewer amenities, like the “add to library” button, at least I can look through the fonts, and click on the “next page” button to continue. The new version just keeps loading and loading and loading over and over again, and when you are looking through a list, it is continuously loading, so it stalls and and makes life difficult at that particular point. So until you fix that issue, I'm going to use the old version for those types of searches.

MyFonts says:
You can turn off the auto-loading by un-checking "Load results as I scroll" in the right column.

Dear MyFonts:

Your new face Affair is beautiful. I noticed a little typo on one of your graphics. I believe Valentine’s Day is spelled with an e rather than what i see on your image - Valantine.

Well that's not good! We'll have to get back to the listing Foundry: Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Dear MyFonts:

Hi guys,

Just a thought, but every time I consider purchasing an entire family, I calculate how much I save on the individual purchase of each font. Many sites will add this into the price area of the page ie: "purchase all 8 fonts and save $20!" kinda thing.

What do you think?

Matthew

MyFonts says:
We already do that for families where there is a straightforward way to buy the whole family. In more complicated cases (e.g. multiple language choices) we give up and let you mix and match your own packages.

Dear MyFonts:

Dino dos Santos/MyFonts should offer Apud in Regular and Bold weights for $80. Buying choices suck.
