And MyFonts brilliantly removes all barriers between me & fonts that I need, safely, reliably, securely. As a typophile, I am continually impressed by MyFonts relentless pursuit of new fonts or resurrection of forgotten type treasures. Example, this year's timely addition of Canada Type's swashy retro 70s gems. And revival fonts like Aviano (with massive glyph & style options. CREATIVITY, TOP-OF-TREND (even launching trends I assert), SPEED & EASE OF USE EQUALS MyFonts. Without them, creatively speaking, I'd be dead in the water. “My 6 month old Mac PowerBook Pro Laptop was recently destroyed in an accident. Although I was lucky enough to retrieve the bulk of documents, I was unable to get some of my favorite fonts that I had purchased specifically for my new - now old - Mac. I was preparing to repurchase the same fonts for my new Mac when an attention-grabbing notice pops up telling me that I had already purchased those very fonts. While grumbling to myself, "Tell me about it..." the message went on to inform me that I could re-download those fonts - FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST!!!!!

“I check Myfonts to see What's New, and while doing so I just happen to check the What the Font Forum. Whenever I see a font that looks familiar, I tell the source of origin; however sometimes I may be off if so correct me because we like to accurate in our font origins.
My interest in typefaces goes back to when I was 4 years old back in 1968 when my great-grandmother bought me a bag of toys. Among them was a bunch of magnetic plastic letters and numbers which I played with more than the toys.
Here is a chronological summary of how it all began:
1968 Plastic letters and numbers
1970 Looking in Sears Catalogues and newspapers.
1974 Looking in Magazines.
1983 Looking in Old Magazines at the Cleveland Public Library.
1986 2 dry-transfer lettering catalogues I found in a thrift shop. Checking out books on typefaces at the library.
1988 Checking around at some typographers in the Cleveland area and getting their specimen books. Also found out about interlibrary loan.
1989 Checked around at some typographers nationwide in which I found out about Solotype, Graphic Compositions, Phil's Photo (now Phil's Fonts) and Photo-Lettering.
1995 I was givend a system to make dry transfers.
1996 I ordered a photo typesetting machine with some film fonts.
1998 I scouted around and came across a lot of 2 inch film fonts.
1999 I gave the internet a try at the Cleveland Public Library and discovered free fonts and started downloading the one that interest me on to 3 1/2 inch diskettes.
2005 I was given a computer from a member of church.
2006 Ordered some fonts from Myfonts.com.
The saga continues.
