About this font family
Colin Brignall, type director of Letraset, designed the short-serifed Aachen Bold in 1969 to fill the need for a contemporary, heavy Egyptian letterform; Egyptians are nineteenth-century designs characterized by their slab serifs.
Aachen Bold grabs attention in sports or commercial display work such as signage, advertising, T-shirts, or packaging.
