Released in 1967 by Linotype, Maximus is a newspaper type designed specifically for classified advertising.
It is intended to be legible at very small point sizes, so the character widths are greater than in most text types, and the letters have a very large x-height.
‘Maximus’ is a trademark of Linotype Corp. registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and may be registered in certain other jurisdictions in the name of Linotype Corp. or its licensee Linotype GmbH.
