About this font family
Times Ten is the ten-point design of Times Roman (Times Roman is the Linotype version of Monotype’s Times New Roman).
In hot metal type, for the purpose of readability, there is a different design for each point size: twelve-point is slightly different from ten-point, which is slightly different from nine-point. Most text types that made the transition from metal to photo and then to digital typesetting technologies were converted using the twelve-point design as the master (this is the case, for example, with Adobe’s core font, Times Roman).
