Handwriting of a strong Carelian personality revived.
It started with this Soviet postcard I got from my aunt Katri more than twenty years ago inviting me to Carelia in autumn to pick berries and collect mushrooms. Katri had a very kind but also energetic personality, and I felt her handwriting is a mirror of it. I decided to revive her personality and started creating a typeface on the basis of her handwriting. Its name translated is “Script of Autumn” (Syys = “of autumn” in Finnish). This also characterizes my aunt Katri whose favorite season of the year was autumn, harvesting time, when she was collecting the fruits of nature from the forest and the garden.
