Slab AmericanA font family tree displays different foundries’ versions, or a foundry’s different cuts, of basically the same typeface design.
Grit History SeriesThe Grit History Series is based on woodtype and letterpress samples found in letterpress shops in the midwest. While many parts of the United States are virtually devoid of letterpress, print shops in the midwest continue to utilize this printing technique when appropriate. Grit History is a response to the demand for less-than-perfect letterforms depicting a style predating offset printing and digital type. Slab AmericanSome words from Baseline Fonts: The Slab American family of fonts is derived from a scientific letterpress manual published in the midwest in the 1890s. Slab American is an imperfect, chunky family ideally suited for any application where something non-digital is the desired effect. Slab American is part of the Grit History Series A font set. The set encompasses serif and sans-serif fonts in varying weights to meet the needs of designers. |
