Designed by German graphic designer and professor Friedrich Poppl, Laudatio was released by Berthold in 1982, the year of Poppl’s death.
Laudatio is a distinctive typeface with a large, rectangular x-height and strokes that show the influence of Poppl’s background in calligraphy. It has an open, contemporary feel and is appropriate for both text and display work.
