Rennie Mackintosh Glasgow™A font family tree displays different foundries’ versions, or a foundry’s different cuts, of basically the same typeface design.
Rennie Mackintosh GlasgowSome words from CRMFontCo: Since the launch of the original classic Charles Rennie Mackintosh Font in 1993, designer George R. Grant had been inundated with requests for a CRM font featuring lowercase characters. Mackintosh rarely embellished his artwork with lowercase text but George eventually succumbed to popular demand and, in 2006, The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Glasgow Font was born, to coincide with the inaugural Mackintosh Festival in Glasgow. This is the world’s first Rennie Mackintosh style typeface to feature lowercase characters - with a full set of over 250 characters, including graphic icons, and is supplied in regular, italic, bold and bold-italic styles. Says George, “I wanted to capture the essence of Mackintosh, with his definite perpendiculars and horizontals, but also have a pleasant flow that is easy on the eye when read in larger blocks of textwork. Above all, it still had to say ‘Mackintosh’”. |
