Alhambra
In Alhambra, Richard Lipton attacks the static repetition normally found in lines of typographic capitals by offering the inventive typographer a lavish choice of alternative letterforms. They are particularly useful when doubles occur.
Having achieved a personal synthesis from a variety of calligraphic hands, he suggests the sensitive mixing of alternate characters as a creative method of obtaining a calligraphic spontaneity.
