Anisette®A font family tree displays different foundries’ versions, or a foundry’s different cuts, of basically the same typeface design.
AnisetteSome words from Font Bureau: Systematic variation of Art Deco capitals in Cassandre’s posters led to Anisette. Rich contrasts in width and weight of hand-lettered geometry suggested a hidden typographic opportunity. In 1930, Deberny & Peignot released Banjo Initials, adapting a hairline weight for two widths of type. Jean-Francois Porchez completed the typographic system with a five-weight series of striking geometric beauty and great complexity. |
