About this font family

Inspired by a characteristic handlettered ad from 1909, as well as the single word “Robusto” drawn for Oz Cooper’s own amusement and a perusal of his better-known work, Christian Schwartz designed Fritz as the friendly text sans serif that Oz Cooper never finally drew, with the addition of an eccentric extra bold face for display only.

In 1998, Fritz was honored by the NY Type Directors Club’s TDC2 competition.

Among other uses, Fritz is recommended for Magazine and Web use.
