First seen on MyFonts: January 1st, 2000 HermesSchriftguss and Wollmer called it Hermes; Berthold called it Block. H. Hoffmann designed the basic weight in 1908 and expanded the series after World War One. FB Hermes recalls the German origin of gritty industrial grotesks that had carried the heavy work of everyday factory printing. The smudged prints of wear and rough presswork were built into the design itself. Matthew Butterick rendered this version in four weights. Not quite what you’re looking for?
