First seen on MyFonts: August 13th, 2002 Switched On and OffI'm always experimenting and trying to achieve unusual typographic effects. The strong graphic symmetry in Switched On and Switched Off was a direct result of using a grid on paper and connecting the dots, so to speak, until an interesting visual effect was achieved. I purposely left certain terminals open on several letterforms in order to draw the eyes focal point within the letter itself. Using both fonts as a knockout treatment, white type on a dark background, increases the overall visual interplay of outline and inline. The result is a dynamic new contemporary type design that is difficult to resist. The eye becomes mesmerized by the equal symmetry of black and white spaces. The eye is further drawn to the open terminals and tries to follow the message along almost like a mouse going through a maze. The overall effect is both hypnotic and stimulating. Use these great new display fonts any time you want to captivate your audience. Not quite what you’re looking for? Try looking at more fonts like this. |
