XChess NutA font family tree displays different foundries’ versions, or a foundry’s different cuts, of basically the same typeface design.
XChess NutSome words from Ingrimayne Type: In 1994 I had a lot of fun designing chess fonts. ChessNut contains two chess fonts that look a bit like actual chess pieces. The key layout is a little complicated. To get a piece on a black square, one must use two characters, one for the piece and another that has no width for the blackground. I wrote a little program for the Macintosh to help set up keyboards several years ago, and if you search for ChessEdit on the internet, you may still find a copy. |
