Sometimes the simplest ideas yield more than one result. The basic “dot matrix” design of aligned circles that was the basis for Transactive JNL also yielded Zera JNL (connected rings) and Pillow Puff JNL (fluffy and cloud-like lettering). One more design was originally cast aside.
For the fun of it, Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts ran Jeff Levine’s Transactive JNL through an effects filter to see the end results. The drop shadow behind the open circles gave the font the look of bulb-lit letters in a classic theatrical sign, and once the file was fine-tuned, it was named Top Billing JNL. More…
