Alia JYA font family tree displays different foundries’ versions, or a foundry’s different cuts, of basically the same typeface design.
Alia JYSome words from JY&A: Alia JY was created by Jack Yan in 2008-9 as a robust, honest, aldine serif typeface. It was designed to complement Aetna JY (which works best at 14-24 pt) in text (8-12 pt). It appears gentle yet official, ideal for those who need a traditional yet contemporary look. There is an Aetna basis, with influences from Robert Granjon’s Plantin. Each font has between 2,600 and 5,100 kerning pairs. |
