Axis Bold

Some words from Letraset:

Created by British designer Peter O'Donnell and inspired by the handwriting style of the late Jimi Hendrix.

Named Axis Bold, after one of his most successful record albums, as you might expect from a left handed person, the overall style has the merest suggestion of a backward slant. However, Axis Bold actually goes beyond what is generally considered to be a font that replicates pure handwriting and would probably be categorised as an informal script. When Jimi Hendrix wrote, very little, if anything, joined up which made it much easier to create a font that was both close to the original but which was sufficiently legible for a variety of purposes where informality was a pre-requisite.

Yes, there are many good informal scripts from which to choose but Axis Bold is a style that combines the unique spontaneity of a decisive hand and the flowing consistency of a carefully created script, a rare quality that sets it aside from other such styles.
