The second of the two typefaces designed by Dave Farey and Richard Dawson that is based on a particular lettering style by British lettering artist, Cecil Wade.
Like Collins, Comedy is a name taken from a famous British playhouse in London’s West End. Both titles were chosen by the designers because much of Cecil Wade’s most influential work, especially poster design, was undertaken for London’s theatreland. Not surprising perhaps, since his Fleet Street studio was located just a stone’s throw from the West End of London where most of the major theatres are sited. More…
