About the family

If you are looking for a versatile typeface for website menus, app interfaces, or any design where space efficiency is a priority, DIN Condensed is an excellent choice. DIN Condensed is a narrow display typeface based on the DIN-standard typefaces—German industrial sans serifs from the early 20th century. Its clean, simple letterforms ensure readability, while its condensed proportions help conserve space in text, logos, signage, and packaging. The DIN Condensed family now includes two widths (Condensed and Condensed XX), six weights (Light, Normal, and Demi Bold), and a variable font with two axes that let you precisely fine-tune stroke thickness for headlines or text. Additionally, DIN Condensed pairs seamlessly with the open-source Bold style, enhancing its versatility for a wide range of design needs. The Normal weight was designed by Tagir Safaev for Paratype (ParaGraph) in 1997, inspired by the narrow DIN styles developed by Linotype designers. The Light weight was introduced by Manvel Shmavonyan in 2014, and the Demi Bold weight was added by Isabella Chaeva in 2020. Primary font characteristics are as follows: • 3 widths: Condensed, Condensed XX • 6 styles, each with 600+ glyphs • 10+ OpenType features • Supports 100+ languages • Variable font Need web fonts with True-Type hinting?
