First seen on MyFonts: March 25th, 2001 (Updated: Apr 14th, 08) ApollineApolline received a Morisawa Award in 1993 (Japan). The objective was mainly to obtain a horizontal emphasis. The asymmetry of serifs reinforce the writing rhythm. The original drawings are very small. They began on tracing paper & were then digitized at larger sizes. ’Roughness’ makes the face more lively. This typeface quite economical because of its large xheight (compared to Adobe Garamond for example), provide a strong color to the printed page. Small caps, old style figures, lining figures were included then. Not quite what you’re looking for? Try looking at more fonts like this. ‘Apolline’ is a trademark of Porchez Typofonderie. |
