PrillwitzA font family tree displays different foundries’ versions, or a foundry’s different cuts, of basically the same typeface design.
PrillwitzSome words from preussTYPE: Johann Carl Ludwig Prillwitz, the German punch cutter and type founder, cut the first classic Didot letters even earlier than Walbaum. The earliest proof of so-called Prillwitz letters is dated 12 April 1790. The famous publisher Georg Joachim Goeschen used these letters for many of his publications. The NP (News Print) version is optimized for use on newsprint. The Book version is optimized for text sizes. The Display version is optimized for display sizes. |
