Sten
Bringing a renewed spirit to its type, machine fonts never looked this futuristic, or had such a striking high impact effect. Sten’s profuse linear abstraction and folded stencil design grab the eye’s attention, while the heavy block-like forms convey a sense of mass & power on an industrial scale.
Two sets of complimentary letters—upper & lower case—allow combinations for letter fit, symmetric value or abstract fun. Sten’s 14 ligatures & companion set of 88 counterless or ‘blind’ characters add further range. Insert photos & graphic images into the counterless glyphs for even more effects.

Sten’s Cyrillic ambitions are met by its twin—Sten Cyrillic. The Cyrillic glyphs can be used as decorative alternates for the latin letters, or to spell out real words in Cyrillic. Designers in Russia & Siberia can put the shoe on the other hand by using Sten Cyrillic as the regular font and Sten latin for decoration.
The OpenType Sten contains all ligatures, Cyrillic characters and counterless alternates in one font. The TrueType version consists of 4 fonts—Regular (latin), Regular Counterless, Cyrillic and Cyrillic Counterless.
Sten is ideal for logos & poster work, signage, brochures & point of sale material, product packaging, on-product typography & screen printed apparel.
