Biography
Based in London, Just Another Foundry specializes in the design and production of text and display fonts for print and for screen.
It was founded in 2004 by architect and type designer, Tim Ahrens.
He has studied architecture at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and holds an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading. His first type design, Aroma, was published in 2000 by Linotype. He is also known for his programming projects such as the Font Remix Tools, and research and writing about font related matters. He has given talks at the ATypI conferences 06, 07 and 08, Robothon, Typo CPH Copenhagen, and Typo Berlin 2009.
Since 2010, Just Another Foundry has been jointly run with graphic designer Shoko Mugikura.
