La Goupil Paris, a french foundry, is made up of Julien (born in 1986)- art director in a french advertising agency in Paris, Fanny Coulez (born in 1987) - photographer, and Louis-Emmanuel (born in 1986) - actor and film director.

They all met at school and discovered typography with graffiti and street art. Noticing a lack of graffiti fonts, they decided to release their own fonts: “Vandalism” (2007) and “Vandalism Alternate” (2008). Wishing to continue, they created “Carving” (2010), an engraved graffiti font. They also worked on half-graffiti, half-handwriting fonts, based on their own writing: “Ruelles” (2009) and “Adrenaline” (2012). Afterward, they released “Haussmann” (2011), an art deco font.

In 2012 they began focusing on more accessible fonts to reach a wider audience and released: “Paris” and “Paris Serif,” two avant-garde hand-drawn fonts. They continued with “Montmartre” a hand-drawn semi-serif font with upper and lowercase, then “Mad Scissors” a cheesy paper crafted font, and “Papercute” another paper cut font with ornaments. At the end of the year, they released “Insolente” a versatile script font with alternates. At the same time, Fanny created a commissioned font for Orange France.

In January 2013, Julien was awarded the typographic first prize at “Club des directeurs artistiques” 44th edition, the renowned french advertising & design competition, for his work on the Havas Greating Card 2013, for Havas Worldwide Paris agency.
