Liz Conley

Liz Conley is a graphic designer, illustrator, and typeface designer working out of foggy San Francisco. After entering college to study graphic design she switched her major to fine art after her first printmaking class, ultimately graduating with a BFA in Printmaking and Bookbinding. From there she worked as a bookbinder at famed Arion Press which houses M&H Type on it's premises. After years as a freelance designer she settled into a job at a tech start-up specializing in design and stationery. This constant mix of new and old, always with a passion for type and design, inevitably led to a desire to craft her own typefaces. Liz relentlessly pursues new technical skills for the artistic possibilities they create. Her first typeface, Gemline, was inspired by the desire to create a typeface that combined the colorful effects of layered type with an Art Deco style.
