Palmer and Rey Type Foundry

The Miller & Richard Type Foundry of Scotland opened a branch in San Francisco in 1878, headed by John J.. Palmer. This branch was sold to Palmer and Valentine J. A. Rey in 1882. In 1884, Palmer & Rey acquired the assets of the Pacific Type Foundry. The company then merged into American Type Founders in 1892.
