Positype is an independent digital type design and lettering studio, developing original and custom type for advertising, corporate, publishing, online and broadcast clients.
It was founded in 2002 by Athens-based, designer and typographer Neil Summerour (1972).
Neil began developing typefaces in 1996 with the 1996 Olympic Brick Paver Project’s proprietary typeface. He is the operating partner and senior designer of Athens-based interactive, design, and marketing firm Sliced Bread. He is also an adjunct professor in the Graphic Design and Journalism departments at The University of Georgia.
In 2001, Summerour published his first two type designs with T-26 Digital Type Foundry in Chicago, IL. Since then, he has released more than 40 typeface families (over 250 fonts) including Japanese Hiragana and Katakana fonts.
Positype fonts are available online, and are sold around the world by The TypeTrust, Veer, T-26 Digital Type Foundry, and MyFonts.
