MyFonts’ review: Ricardo Santos is a young designer from Lisbon with two ambitious type families. His high-legibility geometric sans, Van Condensed, on which he has worked since 1998, has three weights, with italics, each with a choice of lining or old-style figures. Paired with Van Dingbats’ transport symbols, Van may be recommended for airports and railway systems. Santos’ major serif family is Atlantica, a high-legibility transitional design with many OpenType features. Try it where you might have used Bell, Baskerville, or Georgia.
