Biography

VetteLetters.nl is the life’s work of Dutchman Donald® in which he combines his two major passions: Food & Fonts. Vet means “fat” and up to a couple of years ago the name was definitely autobiographic. But Donald did the right thing, reluctantly made a habit of going to the gym now and then, and lost about 12 kilos. The type, though, is still fat and greasy. As eating alone isn't half as much fun, Donald regularly invited friends and fellow designers to join in the cooking or fry some fonts.

VetteLetters.nl is fascinated by kebab shops, local Chinese restaurants and fish-and-chips joints; not just the food but especially the shopfront typography.

VetteLetters' ultimate aim is to become a successful restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam’s Chinatown district.

Another VetteLetters project is the typography portal TypeBase.com.
