MyFonts’ review: Vic Fieger is the creator of the web comic Dubmarine. Of course, comics need lettering and the modern way to do those letters is with fonts. Not content with standard Windows fonts, Vic designs his own and releases them to a wider audience at low prices. Celonius Mark XIX (just $2.99!) is a geometric design, whose angled stroke joins and ends make this narrow font reminiscent of Fraktur. Santa Mensch is grunged-up lettering, based on a newspaper picture that had a band’s flyer in the background. ArgonType is Vic in sober mood; it’s characterized by incomplete strokes and soft curves.

Biography

Vic Fieger began creating freeware fonts to be distributed on his website in 2004. Since then, his fonts have been used by The British Museum in London, the 2006 Japanese Winter Olympics team, and several websites and television outlets.
