MyFonts’ review: Présence Typo is the Alpine studio of Thierry Puyfoulhoux, a graduate of the Scriptorium de Toulouse. His calligraphic and typographic training has resulted in typefaces of originality and subtlety. We love his elegant text face Classica (with wonderful ligatures in the accompanying Prestige), the fine humanist sans Présence, the Gill-like Tschichold. His wide range of accomplishment is clear with the major sans family Ubik, the award-winning superfamily Alinea (in sans, serif and incise), the sans and serif superfamily Placebo, cheerful rounded Adesso, the unusual script Madisonian, and the elegant script pair, Princess and Diana.

Biography

Présence Typo is one of the smallest independent digital typefoundries on this planet. Its slogan: "small is more & less is beautiful" or something like that. Founded in 2000 by Thierry Puyfoulhoux who is at the moment the only designer, PrésenceTypo is located in the French Alps. The foundry’s goal is to provide a collection of high quality type designs and custom products. As it is more inportant to reach 2000 sorcerers of the forest than 2 millions of gas consumers (or internet connected), this typefoundry will never have 10,000 fonts in its catalogue.
