How MyFonts webfont licensing works.

Webfonts However You Want Them

MyFonts has 123,738 webfonts for sale. Use our Advanced Search to search for webfonts.

Self-hosted Webfonts Put You In Control

MyFonts webfonts are used with the CSS @font-face rule. You’ll get a Webfont Kit that is easy to upload to your own site, or any hosting service you please.

You can use the CSS styles that we’ve put together, or fiddle and tweak until your perfectionist web designer is happy.

You can re-download webfont kits whenever you’d like, and customize lots of settings each time (if that’s what you’re into).

Everything You Need

MyFonts webfonts will work in almost all browsers, including: Firefox 3.5+, IE 5+, Opera 10+, Chrome 4+, Safari 3.1+, iOS Mobile Safari, Android 2.2+ and BlackBerry OS 6.

When you purchase a webfont from MyFonts you’ll get a Webfont Kit that includes:

  • The font files in the following formats to make sure your font works in different browsers: WOFF, EOT, web-only TTF, and optionally SVG (Hint: using the Webfont Kit Builder, you can add an SVG file to your Kit as well.)
  • CSS stylesheet with the @font-face rule already written for you.
  • StartHere.html page with clear instructions to get you going.

License Info

MyFonts webfonts are priced by the number of pageviews on which the webfonts will be seen.

Entry level webfonts are plenty for most small sites, like personal blogs or small storefronts, and usually cost the same as the equivalent desktop font.

There are two ways pageviews are sold at MyFonts. It is up to the listing foundry to choose how a font will be licensed.

Pay Once is based on expected monthly pageviews. It is a one-time purchase with no time limit; just make sure your monthly visits don’t exceed your license’s number of pageviews.

Pay As Your Go is based on total pageviews. Picture it as a bucket of pageviews that you can use over time. We’ll let you know when you’re running low. When you do run out, just come back for more.

You can select the number of pageviews you need when the font is in your Shopping Cart.

NOTE: Agencies responsible for multiple clients’ websites, for example web design agencies or hosting providers, may not share a single Webfont license across multiple clients’ websites.
