Organizations can license fonts for multiple users more cheaply than many individual licenses. Site licenses are where a whole workgroup or workplace is licensed.

A note on Standard Licenses

All fonts are tied to a standard license. This is the license agreement – written by the foundry that makes the font – that you accept when confirming your purchase of the font. A typical standard license covers the font for use by between 1 and 5 users.

Discounts for multiple users

Also known as “site licenses”, multi-user discounts make it economical to license fonts for use by many users in your organization. For example, the standard license of a font may cover 5 users for $34.95. If we license this for 100 users, a simple multiplication means it could cost as much as $699. With a multi-user discount, the price falls to $196 (example from Elsner+Flake).

Checking discount schemes is easy!

It’s simple to see how a discount scheme works.

Add the package to your Shopping Cart as normal.
Enter the number of users to be licensed in the box provided.
Click the ‘change’ button.
The cart page will be updated to show the new price and updated total.

If you have multiple items in your cart, you can enter the number of users requied in all boxes and then click one of the Change buttons. This will update the prices and total for all items.

Not just for corporations!

Multi-user discounts often start at around 10 users, so you don’t need to be licensing hundreds of fonts to benefit.
