With a webfont license, you can embed a font into your website so that it can be viewed on any browser. A webfont purchase from MyFonts comes in the form of a Webfont Kit that you host on your own web server.
Our self-hosted webfonts use the CSS @font-face rule, which allows you to fiddle and tweak until your perfectionist web designer’s heart is content. You can set up family style linking (bold, italic, etc), subset a certain character set, and enable or disable OpenType features. It also allows you to re-download webfont kits whenever you’d like to customize (and re-customize) settings.
The price of a webfont is determined by the number of views that your page receives. A webfont is available with one of two license types which measure the pageviews differently: “pay as you go” and “pay once.” If you aren’t sure how many pageviews to buy, simply purchase the minimum number required by that specific font. If your needs change, you can add more pageviews in the future.
