Fernando Díaz Morales was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1988.
In 2008 he co-funded 'Sociedad Tipográfica de Montevideo' (Montevideo’s Tipographic Society) along with Vicente Lamónaca, José de los Santos & Andrés Takach. He also co-funded TipoType.com: the first type foundry of Uruguay, and FontsForHope.com: a font distribution project in which you help causes by buying fonts. He is also a Member of AtypI (Association Typographique International).
Since 2008 he has been teaching ‘Typography I’ & ‘Typography II’ classes at ORT University. He was given workshops and conferences of typedesign in Latin America.
His font 'Fénix' was selected by Google to be a GoogleWebFont on 2012, And ‘Quadratta Serif’ (now Quiroga Serif) was awarded at Bienal Tipos Latinos 2008 & Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño 2010, and is used in several printed publications.
In 2011 he graduated in Graphic Design at ORT University.
