Johann Carl Ludwig Prillwitz of Germany

Born: 1759
Died: 1810

Johann Carl Ludwig Prillwitz, the german punch cutter and type founder, cut the first classicistic Didot letters even before Walbaum. The earliest proof of so called Prillwitz letters is dated 12 April 1790.

The famous publisher Goeschen used these letters for many of his publications.
