Kandal is a wedge-serif face with old style or antique qualities. It has low contrast in weight between thicks and thins, even as it gets bolder. Its proportions are slightly condensed, and the color and texture of Kandal Book is not unlike Century Old Style. (The name “Kandal” rhymes with “bundle.”)
Filmotype Zeal was originally released in the late 1950s, expanding Filmotype’s Formal Script category. Each letterform is elegant in its shape and the details of its execution while retaining a durability not found in formal script styles — making it perfect for use at smaller sizes.
