Matt Desmond designs type out of his home-based studio which is located in Minneapolis, MN.
Matt started making fonts in 1996 when he got his first copy of Fontographer and began turning his ideas into working fonts. After giving fonts away for a while via the internet, Matt decided to make a living of type and co-founded Test Pilot Collective. Five years passed and The Collective grew apart. Matt was back on his own, and in 2004 re-animated the MADtype name to sell fonts once again.
Matt now concentrates on designing retail fonts and custom type for small to large corporations. He has two cats named Hunter and Lucy and enjoys photography, skateboarding, snowboarding, motorcycling, all things automotive, and listening to many styles of music.
