Morten Rostgaard Olsen (b. 1964), trained technical draftsman and
graphic designer mDD, specializing in font architecture & type design.
After 5 years studies at The Danish School of Art & Design, he started his own
design studio in 2001, where he primarily works with development of digital fonts, and works as a consultant and ad hoc lecturer in this area.
Morten Rostgaard Olsen has also a cooperation with FontFont and FontShop (both publishers now bought by Monotype).
These publishers have released various of his font families, primarily FF Max and FF Olsen. (FF Olsen developed as part of a research project about font design specifically for dyslexics).
Both typefaces have received great international popularity.
In 2007 he founded the virtual studio Fontpartners.com together with graphic designer Ole Søndergaard.
From here, he designed and produced font families for inter alia Scholz & Friends, Opel International, Still GmbH, 3F, Danish Conservative Party, YouSee, Netto, Coop, etc.
Fontpartners have released the typefaces: FP København, FP Dancer Pro, FP Dancer Serif, FP Dancer Tango, FP Elsinore, FP Quality, FP Stage, FP Head Pro, FP Fragile, FP Silly & FP Palina.
Morten Rostgaard Olsen has received recognition from The Bergia Fund, Councillor Georg Bestle and Wife Memorial Award & The Augustinus Foundation.
Morten Rostgaard Olsen is a member of The Association of Danish Designers mDD.
